When you go to your local Case-IH dealership to get a new glow plug switch and any wiring harnesses you may need, ask the service manager to make you a photocopy of the wiring diagram. They're usually more than happy to do it, but as always, it helps if you're a paying customer. Remember, the wiring on this tractor is at least 40 years old. Corrosion has almost definetly set in, and I'd bet you've got insulation rubbed through in a few places. All it takes to start a fire is one bare wire touching the frame. Seen it happen. You're very lucky it didn't happen when your glow plug switch shorted to ground. This may be a good time to rewire the entire machine, along with replacing the battery cables, light switch, key switch, starter switch, clutch pedal saftey switch, and voltage regulator (if you've got a generator or Delco DN alternator), all of which fail with age. All of the parts and harnesses are still avalible at a reasonable price from Case-IH.
