I bought a supposedly front mount snowblower for a lowboy and mounted it on my Allis Chalmers B, by running a pto shaft to the front. Fired her up and low and behold, it runs backward. I never dreamed that Cubs might have a backward pto, but today I saw a direction reverser for one on ebay. I'll have to flop the angle drive and switch the auger chain to to the other end make it work, but I'm still curious, do Cub pto's run backward??

The Cub PTO runs at engine speed- about 1800 RPM.

Yes the Cub PTO is non standard. Runs backwards and I believe at a different speed than the normal 540.

I'm running chain drive so would have to go with flopping the angle drive, gearing or changing to belt. I have seen photos of one with the belt twisted.

Well..... .... If you can put a twist in the belt that runs the Blower it will go in the direction you want it to. Or you can set an Idler gear with Pulley off your shaft and that will also run in the direction you want it to. It took me a LONG time Looking at the first Belt Pulley working on a Farmall H . It had a Twist in the Long Leather belt and I Had to ask why. It made perfect sense after I thought it through.
