Rebuilt t/a is on the way and getting ready to put her back together. Has loader and home made 3 pt hitch.Whoever had it before cut pressure line from pump and ran hose to single valve he mounted in front of seat and then to double valves on loader frame. Would like to remove valve on seat and hook back up to original levers. Could I put a tee in pressure line from pump to run to loader valve and let oil go to original hyd levers?? Loader control levers run back to oil reservoir. Not sure about sharing oil between 2 sets of controls, but wouldn't use both at the same time. Everything for original control levers seem to be there, and move like they should. Any thought or suggestions??? Thanks in advance, Chris

As mentioned below. you are trying to convert a series designed system to a parallel system that is using open center valves. To do that you need an additional valve called a "diverter valve" that isolates one branch from the other. A competent manual or catalog will describe them. This will give you two diffenent systems running off one pump.

I wouldn't bother. Take the power from one of IH valves and send it to your loader valve and back. To operate the loader, the IH valve will have to be "on". I don't think IH provided a detent for those valves so you will have to hold it back with a bungee cord. BTW, select "S" on the IH valve. It stands for single acting. Failure to do so may wreak your pump or motor gear train depending on how the hydraulic system and various relief valves are set up. If this is too much for you, get the diverter valve. It is a no brainer.

Best of all is to use the side outlets on the tractor if you have them. There is a set on each side near the belt pulley gear box. One circuit lifts the loader and the other curls the bucket. You won't need any additional hardware. Find a IH manual for loaders that fit your tractor. It might be model #33, Not sure on that.

Thanks for the reply, I follow what your saying, but the loader is 2 way cylinders, should I set it for single acting or double. Seems like it should be set for double action cylinders. Chris

In the second case that I described, only the IH valve would be set to single acting. The aftermarket valve that would get its power from that valve won't have that option so don't worry about it.

The reason for using single action is to prevent pressurized fluid from flowing backwards into the aftermarket valve. If the relief valve has a "pilot" circuit, there could be a problem. YOu might not run it backwards, but someone else is sure to do it.

BTW, I forgot to say that "selector" and "diverter" valves are the same. Catalogs will use both interchangeably.

Both of my 400s have the mid-tractor hyd ports. YOurs should as well. This makes them pre-plumbed for loaders. Use them and save yourself some money.

This is an open center hydraulic system so oil from the pressure line from the pump must run through all valves you use. A T off to a set of valves won"t work. I would think you could run through the original valve setup, proviced there wasn"t a problem with it, but it must be in series with the loader valve.
