Have a 1949 IH Farmall H and it came with a steel snowplow with a hydraulic lift. The plow is mounted all the way back to the rear axle and the lift is mounted in the front. The plow only lifts virtically with no tilt. Was wondering if anyone has come across this implement or if it's something that was probably custom built years earlier. Basically I am just wondering if International Harvester manufactured a snow plow on this vintage of tractor.

Thanks!

I've got something similar to what you are talking about mounted on my M... maybe the same thing except what I've got is considered a dozer blade. On the 2 brackets that mount on the side rail that raise the blade its got a tag that says ACME Dozer on it. That's about all I know though. My dad said it came with the tractor when his dad bought it in the early 70's. Let me know if you find something out. I'm planning on restoring the M and would like to keep the blade on for extra weight to hold the front down at the tractor pulls. I've got the M setup with duals, water in all 4, 4 weights and the blade. Does pretty good pushing up stumps and keeping the place cleaned up. Too bad these pulls won't allow me to keep the duals for pulling.

Sounds quite interesting. I have the tractor at my parents house in storage while I am attending college. I will be there in 2 weeks. I"ll take a closer look to see if there"s any manufacturer name on it. The blade on it was something like a 5/8" thick plate that was torch cut. Leads me to believe it was built custom. I will look further into it though.

Thanks

I do not know who made this setup, but there is at least one more of them, and it was last seen in Winchester Indiana, by me. I tried to buy this H, and plow, many times.
