Randy; If I was smart with this computer. I would scan and mail you the page out of my 154 manual. Any how here we go.

Remove frame top cover. The clutch linkage should be adjusted to provide .090 inch clearance between the release fingers and the bearing. Adjust by loosening the two nuts on the clutch rod adjusting yoke and positioning the clutch adjusting rod to give the specified free travle. Retighten the nuts.

PS there is also a clutch brake on this tractor. If it is out of adjustment it will grind ever time you shift. This is in the manual.

e-mail me if you have any more questions. ekg@mutualdata.com Hope this helps BILL

There should an adjustment on the pedal itself, but there is adlustment in the linkage as well. The IT manual would probaly be of some help for you too. When the adjustment is finished you should have one inch of free play in the pedal. Also try greasing the throwout bearing. On the old cubs, there was a hand hole in the bottom of the bell housing and that was the access to the grease fitting. If the linkage adjustment and the grease don't do the trick, then you have some type of mechanical problem that will require more attention. Hope this helps
