hate to re-post a question ..maybe I should re-phrase it ...did IHC use different gearng in Any of their W-4 models to compensate for the smaller tires on the 4 versus the "H" ...My W-4 is a 1941 and it had 24" rims that I replaced with 26"? ..if IHC made them the same, then an "H" must really move cuz my W-4 aint pokey ..Rod

They have a faster ring and pinion.

W and I models must have faster gears at least 4th &5th. Many years ago I had an ID-6 it was faster on the road than any other tractor I had including an 806.

Since 5th is direct drive, is it that the rear end is different in the W-4? Smaller bull gears, maybe?
