Hello,

I am looking at buying the 656. I have a 506 new idea loader I would like to put on it. The 656 is 200 miles away. Could someone measure their 656 to see how wide it is between frame rails. This 506 loader came off a 730 case so it should be close. I wan't to see how big of a deal it is going to be to put on. Hope fully the 730 is wider and I can just put some spacer inbetween frame and loader mount.

Thanks

20 inches, but if you want to use the holes in the bellhousing they are a little closer, probably about 18

Thanks for the info

The bracket for the loader is 20-3/4" So it looks like it will work out well. I thought it would

Is 3,800 is too much for a 1966 656 with year a round cab heat/air, WFE, Diesel, gear drive.
The hood paint is faded/surface rust. It had duals on it at one time.

Thanks a bunch....

i'd say $3800 is a bargain if the tractor runs even halfway decent. the 506 is the manual trip model, right? i have 2 new idea 504s. one came from a 656 utility, now on a 3010. the other came from a massey 165, now on a 4010. new idea made mounting kits to adapt those loaders to many tractors of the mid/ late 60s. there is enough adjustment in the subframe, lengthwise, to fit a lot of tractors. clamping around the back axle is also pretty straightforward. you may need to do some creative adapting on the bolt holes for the plate where the front brace hooks to the tractor by the radiator. those are rugged loaders for their day. they can lift high too.

Hello

This 506 has had cylinders added to the bucket so it is now a full hydraulic loader. It appears that it should be and easy fit.

Thanks
