I had to put new springs in my H back in October and it has not run the same since then. I dont think its as responsive and it does not run as smooth as it did before. The springs I put in were the "high" power version. they are diffrent one is big and one is small. Do you think that this could have done more bad than good? I think that I should have put in the regular springs back in.
Thanks for the help Andrew

Well it is like this unless ya do the set up on a Dist. strob and see what the advance is doing you can realy screw it up and also there was a change in the dist curve that made a differance in the power of the engine . The bad part of all of this that there is not to many dist. strobs left and people that know how to use one and set a dist properly .

No because you will not realy be able to tell what the advance is at a given RPM and make the adjustments like if it was no the strob and if ya don't have the specyou are shooten in the dark. Best thing to do is go back to what it had before . This is and art and i have been doing dist . since i was 16 and that was many moons ago .

I'm not looking in my parts book, so you may want to take this with a grain of salt. I think the optional fire crater pistons, etc, used a different advance curve, likely meaning the springs were different -- If you have standard pistons, I would use the regular springs.

Thats what I thought I think I get a set of the regular springs and see how they go. It ran real good before the spring change and alright after the change. Andrew
