Does anybody have or does anybody know of a W-4 with factory wheatland fenders? I did not know they existed but there is a pair listed for sale. I don't have a W-4 parts book but my specs and 51 price book do not list them as an option. I would like to see what they look like. If they are like the WR-9 fenders, they would really look sharp on a 4 IMHO.

Just curious, but since all the "W" series tractors were also known as "Wheatland Tractors", what would the difference be between the two? Seems to me if I had a set of fenders off a standard W-anything, that listing them as "Wheatland Fenders" wouldn't be too far out of line....

I do realize there were differences in the Rice and Orchard models, and also that the later "9" series(600-650) used different fenders.

Actually IHC calls the W tractors "Wheel Tractors". Wheatland type and Standard type are local names used in various parts of the country and in those areas are much more commonly called wheatland or standard than wheel. IHC did have special "Wheatland" models of some later tractors but in the time of the W's, they referred to them as Wheel tractors. Just a techincallity.

Yep, I knew the "W" officially stood for Wheel and that the "wheatland" was just one of many regional names used for these models. Just figured the guy advertising the fenders redundantly threw the "wheatland" into the description.

Guess we'll find out when/if you hear back from him...be sure and post, it'll be interesting to find out!

The only thing I can think of is the difference between the W fenders and the I/OS fenders or maybe the O fenders. My I-4 parts book shows just the "half" fenders which I have on it now and makes no mention of anything else.

Thats all I have ever known of, the standard W fenders, O fenders, and I fenders. From the ad I thought he was refering to the Ricefield type fenders which I have never seen on any W tractor except the WR tractors. I e-mailed the advertiser to see if they were aftermarket fenders of the ricefield type or regular W-4 fenders but have not received a reply.
