I want to thank all you fellas who answered up on the question a while back about starting techniques for these old girls with the updraft carbs. I have been using one that directed to open the throttle about a 1/3 ,pull the choke all the way out, then push it all the way back in after cranking the motor a couple of revolutions.. This has started my Super M with it's weak starter every time. I went out to feed today. 0 degrees and the tractor had not been started for 4 days. It was in the unheated shed and there was frost all over the block and gas tank. I followed the proceedure and she fired as soon as I pushed the choke in.. My cows and I thank you for the info. This web sight is a wealth of information and expirience. Tallperson

i just plug the tank heater in for an hour or so and it fires without the choke. Well worth the $50 dollars. It was 17 below this morning and it fired right up after an hour and 15 mins...
