A few days ago there was a question about whether there was a differenc between the temperature gauges for pressure radiator tractors such as the M nd H farmall and non pressure . At first I didn't give it much thought and then I began to wonder. I checked and there is a difference. The non pressure radiator on the H and M requires 49040DB temperature gauge and the pressure radiator requires 67135 D. The reason would be that the run zone for the non-pressure would be at a lower temperature. If they were numbered gauges it wouldn't matter.

They are certainly different gauges. I would love to see a test in which good gauges of both kinds are placed in the same pan of water then heated to boiling. This would allow us to compare the intent of the designer with the reality of the application.
