Kelly: You didn't need to send it along when done with it. Yes, it's made it's way to SW ON by this morning. I know it's one of those free trade issues, started in the Canadian west, they shipped it on to you folks in the Dakota's, MN, WI and MI. They in turn sent it on to us and we are going to give it to upstae NY. New England will in turn ship it back into the Canadian Maritimes. All that and no US or Canadian Customs Officer even got a handle on it. Beauty of it though, on the east coast they will use the gulf stream out of Gulf of Mexico and send it back north.

Kelly: You got to feel for those guys with animals of any description. We only have a few cats, Marg's been feeding them in back porch in the last few min. I wish she would hurry, and get that damn door perminately shutt. Door is too close to the computer. I think I heard it close for what I hope is the last time. Oh well, these old farm houses, it's either cats or mice. I guess the cats aren't so bad.

Personally I haven't taken the 3 steps necessary to read thermometer. I will take your word on how cold it is, and be content to be a fire side boy today.

Britt is just to the west avout 18 miles and Mason City is 10 east. We are right by I35. Looked out on the deck -18 and the wind sock is moving. I was moving snow yesterday and busted the yode on the pto shaft on my snowblower. So I will be replacing that today.

Yup, looks like winter is back, was 9 below most of the morning and warmed up to 4 below before dropping again, down to 16 now and still going down, many years ago I was almost in Canada and it was 55 below when I got up in the morning, I was a lot younger but it didn't really seem that cold when I think back..

in the 1980's ..before I "fell in love" I was at a friends house havin fun and the weather turned nasty so I spent the night. When we awoke it was sub-zero, power was out, and ..out of the 4 vehicles in the driveway ..the only one that fired up was my "63" Rambler ;) Rod

Coldest I have experienced was -50 actual temp in Dawson City Yukon, Christmas '83. I lived in the Canadian arctic for a while. I had a 4x4 Bronco, 2 block heaters, oil pan heater, battery blanket. I would start it up, put the transfer case in neutrel and let it warm up. If you shut the truck off, u were good for an hour or 2, then it would be real hard to get started without plugging it in..... ...

It's never been out of the single digits here. 1° right now. Bullfrog pulled a good day to blow a hydraulic hose but I was done feeding and had enough oil to get back to the house. Got warmed up and changed the line after lunch. The hardest part was adding fresh oil. Then I messed around for a couple hours getting some brake parts off an H. yeah, it's a mite chilly, I'm gonna go back out before dark and put a magnetic heater under the hydro. Just glad I'm not calving yet.

Cowman, do you put the mag heater on to heat the hydro drive some how, or are ya heating the motor? If it is for the hydro, where are you placing it. I would like to try it my self.

It's got a block heater on the motor and I bypassed the timer so it can heat all night. I put the magnetic underneath, I figure anythings gotta be better than nothin. This old boy is hard to start when it gets below zero.

it's been -40 here lately. my 666 has 2 block heaters and I have a magnetic heater on the trans. Motor starts (gasser) but the hydraulics take like an hour to warm up enough to do anything.

That's not even funny. Get mr you address and I'll be sure to send some of this 15" of snow down UPS Next Day Air.

The snow is a small price to pay for the other three beautful seasons of the midwest.

Don't forget the sun block...errr...is that wind block?

Now if I could find a gig that would pay me to be there in Feb and here in July. Hmmmmm now thats the ticket.
