I have a cast iron part here that is circular in shape, about 7 inches in diameter with a raised edge. It is about 1/4" thick. It has the IHC logo emblem in the center and part number 183N below the IHC logo. The upper part of the circular plate bulges out and there is a hole drilled in there which the plate would pivot on if bolted or attatched to something. At the bottom there is a raised part that is obviously used for your thumb and finger to grasp to swing the plate out of the way. It seems that it might be a dust cover or lid of some type, perhaps from an implement or maybe even a tractor? I wish I could post a photo but this description is the best I can do.

The "N" part number suffix generally indicates threshing machine. It is probably an access cover off the side of a thresher.

Sounds like a corn planter lid. I have one that fits the description, except the number on mine is 1121A.

From the description, it may be an old corn planter lid.
