826 Leak- Thanks Masked Man!

A while back I posted a question about an engine oil leak at the oil filter housing on my 826D. I had replaced all the oil line o-
rings (the old ones were hard as rocks) and the block gasket. That cut the pukage down to about a quart an hour (grin). A gent spoke up with a suggestion and I just now had the chance to check it out. He was dead on! Unfortunately, though I have searched, I cannot find the post to thank the guy by name.

The "Masked Man" suggested it might be the copper seal on the relief valve plug on the oil filter/cooler housing. Right on!! He also mentioned having had trouble finding the copper o-ring. I dug around in my junk drawers and found a copper crush washer from my days as an air-cooled VW mechanic and it worked great. To many years have passed for me to remember exactly which seal it was, but I think it was a drain plug seal. No more leakage on my D358. At least fo now.

Anyway, thanks Ranger! Hey, where'd he go?
