I just bought a 1940 H which sat for several years without running. I overhauled the carb, cleaned out the sediment bowls and screens, filed the mag points and put new spark plugs in. It now runs good except when running at full throttle. After about two or three minutes it will sputter and die. It will start right back up, but two or three minutes later it will do it again. Any suggestions? Thanks, Dennis.

you say you rebuilt the carb is the float level correct could be to low with enough fuel for low throttle but runs out on high demand.

Sure sounds like a fuel problem. Could be as simple as a bad fuel cap, try removing it and see what happens.

As Randy indicated, Put a hose on the line that attaches to the carb put the other end in a container, and turn on the fuel at the tank. If a strong stream of fuel comes out, it is not the supply. (one pint in 30 seconds) would do)
