I have a trash can reserved for Champion plugs.
I switched to Delco C-87 and no more fouling.

Champion plugs are not what they used to be. Seems that since they went to C suffix plugs,[copper], problems have cropped up. Last week, I was working on a Hercules generator set. Had good spark on 3 cylinders & nothing on the other one. Took the cap off the mag, suspecting a bad cap. Looked good, cranked the engine over, & had a good spark from the plug wire. Pulled the plug out[new plug] & after much testing, found that it had an internal short somewhere in the insulator[ wouldn't spark at the gap]. It was a J8C. We've been having better luck with Autolite plugs. My two cents worth.
