Why not use the Continential diesel that was used in the 350's??? There are parts out there and would imagine it wouldn't be all that crazy involved being a 350 or a 300 is just a updated H.

In what part of the country do you live? I know where there are 2 in Iowa one with a 350 chevy and one with a small block ford. Email me if you want the locations.

A little 4bt cummins diesel would be really cool! Go to any heavy truck salvage yard and you can get them pretty cheap. Hard part would be adapting the H"s flywheel to the cummins motor. I"m not sure how wide the back end of the cummins is, but you would have to make it fit inbetween the frame rails...I"ve seen a 350 chevy in an H... looks kinda funny.

darn now you have me thinking about the H I have in the back for parts...I may have to look into this conversion myself!

Harold has a good point.
If you are asking for exact instructions for clutch modifications, (with respect) there are going to be 200 items of extemporanious engineering that will require decisions and solutions on your part, (and must work in the future reliably). If this is not you, do not attempt the project, it will cause more grief than hobby success.

If you take the challange, we are with you.

Why not use a H, SH, 300, or 350 IHC engine?

There have been discussions of this before. Considering that the H is not scarce, it's hard to make an argument about keeping one original. It's also hard to justify the cost of doing the repower. One guy was planning to use a Mercedes 240 motor, but any small diesel (Isuzu, Perkins) would have enough HP. General process would be to use the clutch that came with the engine, line up the crankshaft with the transmission input shaft, then fabricate motor mounts and driveshaft.
