Next time I change the oil (by Spring) I need to replace the plug. There's nearly not enough left to grab. Years of Visegrip abuse. I hate to order and pay shipping for no more than that, and I may not be by the nearest IH dealer ( sixty miles, in an odd direction) before then. I was wondering if it's a standard pipe plug size, maybe? Thanks, Wm
PS, about the battery cables. I talked to Brillman, they're making me up a set.

Ask for a 3/4 pipe plug at the hardware store. Black pipe if they have it.

Here is my response that I accidentally posted under the Farmall B.

The part number is 359875R1. Just call your local (or not local) Case/IH dealer. They can ship it to you a lot cheaper than you can drive. By the way the gasket is 3405H. This is the same plug for the A thru SMTA, and up thru the 350 and 450 gas engines.

The model year or if pan has been changed could affect if pipe plug or not.If theres enough left of your plug to tell in most cases if it was square head for wrench its a 3/4 inch pipe plug.If it was hex head its not a pipe plug and would have a sealing washer under head originaly.
I think they were 7/8 inch SAE threads or mighty close.

If it's a pipe plug your local plumbing shop should have it. Home Depot or Lowe's would have it too. Hal

I think it is a standard pipe plug. I should have an extra, if you can't find one. (My $0.02 worth. jal-SD)
