I'm going to look at a 1940 Farmall H. Has newer tires, older repaint and told it runs well. I'm new to Farmalls and was wondering if $1300 is fair. Is the any special chacteristics to this modle I should look for? Any help to help me make an informed decision is greatly appreciated. Thanks, Randy

I'd check water in radiator for antifreeze and clarity. Engine oil same, needs change if cloudy/whiteish. Crack rear drain plug and watch for water in tranny. Compressiom check at least two cyls. Drive out on road at speed checking for front wheel wobble. Check even braking both sides. IF ALL these are OK then 1300 is fair. Would sell for 1100 here in SD .Wheel weights? Lights, working? Rear light? Toolbox? Fenders? Battery box? PTO shield, engine mud guard there? These are bonus items. Add for each Good Luck
