I was wondering if back in the day a 450 rowcrop could be purchased without a T/A from the factory.
I thought that the T/A was not an option, but standard equipment.
Thanks, For the help.
Mike

Mike: TA was always an option on MTA and later US built number series tractors, having 5 speeds or more. From 00 series onward all 5 speed tractors could be ordered 3 ways. Just plain old 5 speed, or one of two options, 5 speed with TA, or 5 speed with a forward-reverse drive. The TA and forward-reverse drive could not be ordered together as both units fit the same place in the torque tube. This would apply to the MTA as well.

Having said what I did about the 5 speed tractors, TA remained an option on the 8 speed models as well. The need for forward-reverse drive was eliminated in the 8 speed tractors.

This applies to Farm Tractors only some Industrial Tractors did have other options.

Yes you could, my neighbor has a 400 without TA, live pto. or power steering. It has a very large steering wheel.
