Hi, My H was leaking TDH fluid so I removed the cover plate and I found that there is two shafts that oil is leaking at rear.
I think the upper one is for keeping ground travel and the other for the belly pump. am I right? Anyway, I would like to know if it is hard to change those those seals and How to change them. Can I split it between trans/diff and clutch/belly pump housing without removing the motor??
THANKS FOR YOUR TIME AND REPLY!!

If you are talking about replacing the seal that is lurking behind the coupling shown in the above picture, you are dealing with a genuine "bitch" of a job. That thing screws in there. You need the biggest pipe wrench that you can get up in the hole. A big strong boy with a strong back. The tractor needs to be in gear and the wheels chocked. While proped against the right wheel push the pipe wrench with your feet counter clockwise until you hear something break loose. Good luck. The seals are readily available at your local bearing and seal place.

Yes you can change both of those seals with out splitting the tractor. You do though need to remove the liftall from the belly to do it.

1st remove all the pipes and stuff from the lift all. Also remove this coupler. 2 cotter keys and its out.

You can use threaded rod to lower the liftall if you dont have help. Use 4 rods instead of 2 though. It wobbles alot with 2. hehehehe

You need to remove the coupler from the clutch to the trans to get at the trans seal. The drive for the lift all screws out. Then the seals are a easy fix.
Hope this helps.

Naw you don"t need to take the lift-all out. I"ve replace two or three of those seals without taking anything out. You just gotta be careful and hold your mouth right when working the tranny input shaft around after you get the flex joint taken apart. I"ve replaced those seals both in under two hours doing it that way. HTH. Larry

I can see how that could be done. Not likely I could do it though. I would get way to mad trying to get those coupler bolts on and off.

Now Kelly, there's no need to get mad at it just cause oil is drippin in your face while you're taking it apart. You know, for me, the worst part of that was trying to remember which way the cone-shaped washers go back in. That was one Chinese puzzle after I kicked the bolts and washers all over the place when scooting out from under there. I think the hardest part of it really, was separating the joint the first time. If I remember right, I kinda stuck a screwdriver in the pint to pry it apart. Larry
