Im here askin advise again, (you all have always been on the money when it comes to advise) My 460D has gotten harder and harder to start when its cold and it blows white smoke most of the time, which is gradually turning darker. Now its started popping out the exhaust. It started out once in a while but its popping more and more now. A friend suggested that it has one or more burnt valves and its time to redo the head. Any thoughts on that subject? Thanks in advance Gary

Just a question Gary does the starter turnit over very fast when trying to start. My 460 got very hard to start one time we had the starter over hauled and it was like a new tractor after that. It should turn over almost like it has no compression.

Try running a real stiff charge of Sea Foam mixed in with the fuel. It will help get rid of carbon, and clean your injectors. The 460 is noted for poor winter starts. Are all of your glow plugs working?

Could be valves or it could be you haven't been working it hard enough. You may have carbon bluid up in it. But thats just my guess.
