I have been talking to the guy that owns this tractor. Said he will sell it for $3000 and will include new reproduction fenders as well. Said compression is around 160 per cylinder. For an LP does this sound right. I have never owned a farmall or an LP tractor and i am still searching for the right one. What did these front tire come off of? Do you know if I could replace these front rims with original ones?
How about the value?
thanks
joel

I guess I have a problem with the sellers description of the tractor.

The paint theme is incorrect, NOT "ORIGINAL".
The grill is banged up, "SHEET MEDAL IN EXEC CONDITION"
The wide front looks like it has been welded on.
The front rims are not "ORIGINAL"
Rear tires look worn.

Makes me wonder judt how good the motor and TA really are ?

For what itīs worth, it has a 450 fast hitch.

The front tires are probably old car tires. Pretty common considering the "thrifty" nature of farmers.

The front rims are standard implement rims. This is probably because the front end is an aftermarket Schwartz front end that was purchased with standard 6-bolt hubs. You could get the Schwartz with bare spindles, then transfer the cast M/400/450 hubs and rims from your narrow front end for a more "original" look, and most importantly, less cost.

Compression on a new 400 LP was listed at 175 lbs.

If everything he says is true...seems like a fair deal...especially with live hydraulics and a good fasthitch/3pt conversion, the fenders and good power steering. Can't answer your LP questions though...never had one either.
