At the sign-up thing in CEDAR RAPIDS i talked to a couple of guys who were doing the ride across IOWA.Havent heard if the ride is getting full or what if any limits were. They did say in their add that slowest speed allowed was 14mph.The promoter of the ride has in the past done a poor job of running anything he has attempted. Prime example was the show at MT PLEASANT few years ago that few people attended. It was held following the WMT TRACTORCADE.

My wife was telling me that she heard on WMT that this summer's tractorcade is already full, no more entries allowed. I have not confirmed that, but it does not surprise me. If it is too late to get in, it is still fun to watch it roll by.

Hey gene Are you sure it was 14mph? That would knock out most if not all two-cylinder deeres as most of them wont make over 12mph. bill

Is there more than one? They may go by differant names but theres one here in eastern Ia sponsered by WMT radio that is going by my place.
Its a three day ride. I'm not going but last time it went by here about three years ago my neighbor with his JD and I with my IH put on a show for the riders. A few people I know are going on the ride.

Randy, you may want to rethink the last seven words of your post excluding your name. We will see. I have served as the village idiot for a number of years now and all.

I always go to Rondevouis, usually on Sat, but I am flexable if I have a little warning.

Have you taken in Spook Cave, Effigy Mounds,Pikes Peak ? Not to mention where the first green tractor was built--no insult intended.

If you get near here there is a gas station directly across the street from the park (east) of the park. (right on 52) They keep pretty close tabs on me. If you forget my name just say idiot and old tractors in the same sentence.

Also on the main drag 52 there is a old old type gas station with the canopy, and alot of stuff around it, 12 ft fron the pavement. Stop in (Charlies)--no need to knock-- A good friend lives there and putts around with old junk. He also keeps pretty close tabs on me.

Perhaps you can take a tour of our antique club, Northeast Iowa farm Antique Club South of Garnavillo about ten miles. We spend alot of time down there.

You no doubt know John Ruth a good ol boy from your home town. It is imposible to stump him on a magneto, I have tried many times. I don't know what we will do when someday those kind of guys retire for good.

I will try to check on the tractor rides, last year two came through Garnavillo. Another small ride was 10 miles from here.

Will keep in touch Dave NE IA
