Hi all!!!

been thinking about starting a collection of farmalls, learned how to drive on a b that dad still has (passed on from g-grandpa) just getting into it though, where should a guy like me begin, is there associations out there that i should look into joining? i live in middle tn, grew up in mn, and really have a passion for farmalls (as they were and still are the best) the old b still helps out on my folks dariy farm near kenyon mn!!!

anyways just wondering where a new guy to the buisness of collecting and restoring should start?

As with any collection, you should have some kind of goal. Maybe you want one of every letter series or number series. Collect all the supers, the hi-crops, the LP versions etc. Or you can take the sentimental approach to re-build the farm inventory that your family had at one time.

Josh. You could start by contacting Conrad Fiskness at cfiskness@aol.com. He is the president of the IH collectors in Minnesota. He should be able to put in touch with others in you area who have a love for old tractors. Morgan

first off you need to have some $$. Cost to do that is high or can be. Now if your good with a wrench you can buy cheap and fix them up but if your not then cost is a big thing. If your just getting in to it at least your in the right place to get a good start. Also if you look hard you can find a lot of tractors cheap but then thats where to cost add up.

Josh I think that every Farmall collector schould Have an "M" they are reasonably priced, parts are very easy to get and the "M" was the tractor that got IH a good reputation in the 40's and 50's I started my collection with a 1948 M and recently aqured a 1940 M to restore. just my opinion thou.
