My '73 140 didn't have a rockshaft when I got it. I picked one up a while back and want to put it on the tractor. Should I use hardened bolts to mount this to the fenders? There are square holes in the mounting castings of the rockshaft. Will I be able to find hardened carriage bolts to fit the square hole? Thanks!

Thanks, fellas...I remember when I took the rockshaft off at a junk yard I made sure to hold on to the bolts but a cotton mouth right after that made me forget where I put them and I can't find them since.)

I'd say find some grade 5 carraige bolts. Likely you will have to go to fastener supplier to get those, as most at the hardware store will be grade 2. Plenty of sources on the internet to order them if it comes to that.

If it is the same as a Super A, which it should be, it takes a 3/8 x 1 carriage bolt. I would probably look for grade 5.
