I have a 101 combine with a 6cyc.gas motor.I was wondering if the motor could be put in a tractor and if so what size tractor it would fit in? Someone said something about all of the crankshafts werent drilled for a polit bearnings. Is there any way to tell unless you take the belt drive mech. off? Thanks

It might be a C-221, which would fit a 460 or 606. The 101 combine and those tractors share the same diesel engine, so I would assume that they would share gas engines too, but that may not be the case. It could also be an old IH truck engine. Also, there are two types of 221's, one with sleeves and one without. Some combines got the non-sleeved motor, so if it is a C-221, you may want to consider putting some sleeves in it when doing the motor swap.

That engine may be the BD-220. It may be used in
an IH tractor or truck. Any auto machine shop could drill the crank for pilot bearing. Hal
