When you put the pointless ignition in, do you put the plastic dust cover back in the distributor?

the dust cover will not fit with electronic ignition because the pickup sets up to high

The instructions with my EI said to not use dust cover, not sure why but figured they knew best. Is your M converted to 12 volt, negative ground? Be sure to use right kit for voltage and ground.

TBW, As long as it still fits, I would use it to keep dust away from the magnetic pick up unit as posible. I havent any idea how much rooms under the dust cap on your particular distributor, but so long as the pickup unit isnt taller then the old points n condensor, I see no reason not to still use it. When you switch to an electronic switch, I HIGHLY recomemnd the use of a high energy coil to get the most bang for the buck and utilize the full potential of the new switch.
