I just got my head back for the 264C engine in my farmall 400 the problem is when i torqued it down on of the studs stripped out. The question is i herd from people that the head gasket can only be torqued once but other people say it can be torqed more then once. Who is right. Thanks

More bad news, I have been searching all day for the engine stud i stripped. I cant find any. I was wondering if any one would know where to get some or if there is any other alternative solutions. Thanks

Don't work on many of those, but I think your local Case-IH dealer should be able to get those studs. Also should be able to get a used one from a salvage yard. Personally, I'd be afraid to reuse the gasket. Much easier and cheaper to replace now when you've got the head off anyway.

If the head has been removed to replace the stud, (and I assume not started) I would use copper coat spray on both sides of the "used" gasket and go for it. If it was sealed down the firat time, and came apart with pieces on both head and block, I would not use it. If it was stuck to one side and the other came claen, I would use Copper coat on that side and use it. If the stud was replaced without removing the head, I would just torque the stud, and run it. May it be just fine.
