I was lookin at Sevice manual for hydralics on 706. If I wanted to add the 3pt or fast hitch.
Looks like all the controls and linkages are contained in the cover under the seat. Not including the torsion bar assembly?
Any one ever try to add it later?
Might have to keep my eyes open for a parts machine or go Salvage yard shoppin.

Yes Kelly, it can be done. Got a 706 just like that and thought about adding the hitch when I went through the rear end several years ago, but ran out of time and $$$. Your transmission cover will not have any of the hitch valves installed. Getting a complete transmission cover/rockshaft assembly from a junkyard or parts machine would be the way to go.

It could be done , i have never had to add it on any tractor it would be just basicaly a bolt on and a few adjustment to linkage. Find a donner tractor. I think that tractor you have in the picture is about the second or third one that i have see with out a hdy hitch on it , the first one was when i first started going to sales and buying and i thought that if i could get it bought cheep i could do that then i started to think about it and since there was over 800 tractors to choose from at this sale WHY would i want to go thru the work and added expence like i use to see alot of 706' come thru with out a PTO and here again i got this idea well i'll just add one on so like a dummy i bought one and for the next few years that rag was my tractor as i could never come up with a ( cheep ) PTO and i farmed with it when i needed a sprayer to spray with all i could find was PTO driven sprayers but for the life of me i could not find a CHEEP PTO But a buddy of mine bought a Hdy driven sprayer so i just used his . After i plum wore that old 706 out and with the tractors that i was selling and buying i just hit that old 706 between the head lites and when all the dust setteled i was able to by a better tractor the only thing left was a bucket of bolts and nuts

Last spring I went to a sale and there was the rear section sitting on rims for a 706. Went for $400 I think. Had I only known what July would bring..... ..... . Might not ever see that again now that I would buy it.
I am not going to do it unless I happen to run into some thing again.

Mornin' Kelly,

I just got done adding the 3-point to my little tractor after scourin' junk yards for parts.

Thing of it is, mine left the factory already equipped and the original hitch was removed at the dealer prior to the tractor's sale.

Your tractor appears to have the "blank" housing, which means that you'll have to swap 'er out complete, as the hydraulic guts will be missing from yours. Also, you'll have to add the torsion bar and linkage underneith.

The only thing you'll have to pay particular attention to is the large chassis/small chassis difference. They don't interchange, other than the lift arms.

Should make quite a project. Please post pictures as ya go. :>)

Thats you Hydro 70 right? What did you give for that when you got it?
I got the bead on that Hydro 70 that got taken from the mashals service. I know when and where the sale is going to be. Hopen all car guys show up on that sale. If they are I am going to snag it.

Hi Allan,
Doesn"t that just torque ya when you know the machine was complete before the sale, but they took it apart just to make another buck? I bought a lathe like that. It had the tool posts and chucks, etc. with it, but someone else got there first and stripped it just so he could sell the stuff, but he wouldn"t sell them back to me.
