Due to age, wear & tear I have had to fabricate several pieces to make up a new throttle linkages for my 460. I am down to the final piece were I have to cut fine threads to match up with the old threads. I have been using course threads on all the new parts - available taps / dies from TSC. I have found these fine threads on several areas - steering wheel, throttle likages, etc. What fine thread type did IH generally use? Where is the best place to find these taps and dies? Thanks Dave

I bought a fine set of taps and dies, including fine thread, from Sears.

10-32
1/4-28
5/16-24
3/8-24
1/2-20
these will cover most of the threads encountered, they should be available at any good auto supply store or tool store.

Sorry didn't remember there being any 7/16 bolts on a 460. However at my age there are a lot of things I don't remember, and several I would like to forget!
