Hello Members,
This tractor is in need of rescuing. Its been sitting for at least ten years. I dont know what model it is? Can someone help? I've semi-refurbished a Ferguson TO-30 and a Ford 2N. Neither required much in the way of mechanical work. Would you guys get it? What would you pay assuming its not stuck etc? Thank you very much. Dave

Bullhead City, AZ to be exact... just across the river from Laughlin and 100 miles from Las Vegas.

Yeah, cold here this morning too. Showed 48 on the way to work at 6 am. LOL The wind was just plain stupid today though, gusts to 45 all day -- about blew the door off the classroom every time it was opened.

Coldest I've seen here was 29 degrees about 2 weeks before Christmas. Hottest was 128 degrees one day when we moved here in August of '04, and many 125 degree days last August...

I dont envy that heat in the summer. But every year as winter comes we say we're going to move! Have a good one.

It looks to be a 1939 or 1940 IHC Farmall H.

3pt? in reply to sammy the RED, 01-22-2006 16:38:24
Would there be a hydraulic 3 pt? It was a haying operation. Would they have used the pully capabilities or would it have been in the field?

Definitaly an H. Not a super because the McCormick-Deering plate is visible on the grille. Super would simply have IH.

Worth about $500 to $750 max not running with a loose engine. At least in my experience...

Thats about what i have to spend. Its 5 hours away so it would be site unseen. I'm a little concerned by the oxidation by the frame, cracked block allowing fluid to spew out?

I don't get where you're seeing oxidation of the frame? Sure, the whole tractor has surface rust, but the frame looks more like an oil leak from the governor to me.

3 point was not standard or optional on these, but you can add one for about $700 from Saginaw.

Here's the pic of the tractor for those too lazy to click: third party image

A governor leak sounds fixable. I was just curious about the 3pt, wouldnt change a thing if i got it. I need to learn how to insert photos like that! Thanks for the replies.

DM: Definately a Farmall H. H has steering shaft along top of hood, C steering shaft goes along bottom of engine on the left. H has the Farmall logo on top of grill Super H has IH. M has same steering shaft as H but is much deeper through engine and clutch area.

You are right Hugh, definately an H not a Super back wheel indicate a middle to late 40's but I don't see a light standard. An H is just not as meaty as an M
