The 50/60 degree days are getting nice here in western Ky. Was working on equipment and had a few buggs flying around. Made me take a walk around the farm. Looked the wheat over,Stood and looked at the fields, Trying to decide on what to plant where.Just day dreamed about strait pipes glowing and dirt a flowing. Warm days really gets this old timer ready! But then the gas prices, just killed the itch to plow. Hows your weather? Has the plow bug niped on you yet? Well have a good day, anyway!

It's been warm up here, too, in the border country near Montreal. But up here, weather is like a bank account, you pay for it, and we are going to pay for this, either next month in the form of a real tree-popping cold spell or in March or April with a cold and stormy winter reprise at just the point where you are the sickest of winter. You see, regardless of whether the winter has been mild or severe, the spring always looks good since you are tired of living under the gun (the threat of bad weather is almost as tiring as the experience). Every day is a day made good, one day closer to spring, if it is a nice day it is a gift and if it is a bad one, it is one less day to have to worry about when it is finally over.

Wah!!!!! It's just +1C here in eastern Ontario and we are in the middle of a heavy snowfall, about 5" down and she's still coming - wet heavy stuff, bending the tree branches like crazy. Oh well, I can think of it as potential moisture for May planting!

JD and Robert: Where I am (40 miles NW of Montreal) winter has been very mild and the pitts for sledding. My animal friends are saying that there is a lot of respiratory sickness in some barns. The skiing in the Laurentian mountains was good at Christmas but the mild weather is not helping now. Surprising how far the $ trickle from some sports (or kack of). Good to hear from some `local`people on YT. QR

Been in the 60s the last couple days here in Missouri. Sort of scares me, the way its been so dry and being this warm this time of year. Whats summer going to be like, hot, dry, if so we are in trouble at least here. Last years hay crop was pi$$ poor and my winter wheat deer plots are there but not doing well. Been a lot of red flag warning around also because its so very dry. These 10 mintue rains jsut don't cut it. Oh well thats life for you

Wish you guys would stop talkin' 'bout plowin'; you're depressin' me! :>)

I'm still in the darnest foot race of my old, feeble life just trying to get caught up with my hair-brained schemes from last year. :>(

About the same here in NE Iowa. 32 straight days now with above normal highs, but here that doesn't mean farming, it just means poor ice fishing.

About the same here in S.E. IN. If we would stop getting these small showers every third day or so things would dry up a bit . The mud is harder on livestock than anything I think . I`d rather see the ground froze myself . I have been getting some things done that oterwise I would just be thinking about doing !!

The Amish in SE PA may be plowing on those hillsides. I plowed in February back in 1990.
The ground was just right for plowing. I didn't plant anything until later that spring. In March
the temp went to 90 degrees. It's suppose to be 70 today here in MD. Hal
PS: Sure hope it doesn't freeze the fruit trees
if they start to bud.

Its been warm here in CT. too. About 55 the last week. It brings thoughts of spring and pulling season! Yet all this warmth is not good for New England Maple Sryup. In order to get a good harvest of sap, there should be a foot and half of frost in the ground and a good foot of snow pack. At present time we lack both!!

I guess the price of maple syrup will be going up.
I had rather see the weather stay cold. There's a lot of orchards in this area and a freak warming
can start the fruit trees to bud and then if it gets cold, it will ruin the blossoms and then no fruit. I guess we have to take what we get. In 1994 on this same date it was -20 degrees. Hal
