Broke the little spring on the manafold for my 706. Trying to get the flapper loose.
Swung by Arnolds CASE IH. $30 for the spring.
IH is competitive on parts you can buy anywhere but bring the big wallet if you need some thing only they have.
Ofcourse I paid.

I paid three dollars the other day for a "sump check valve spring" (it looked like a ball point pen spring). Of course I paid it, I was too chicken to use the spring out of a pen, and it probably cost the dealer more than that to stock it and pay the parts guy to walk back to the bin and pick it up!

Yea I know. The fact that I can get a small part like that for some thing made in the 1960's and he can just walk over and get it is pretty cool.
Just wish I could get pretty cool for 5 bucks :-0

That's $30 well spent. That little spring is what makes the tractor drivable. A few years ago my 706 was stumbling coughing and weezing one morning. Took for ever to warm up, when I parked it I happened to notice that spring was gone, I replaced it and it made a world of difference, warmed up and ran good fast.

Here's an unroller that may interest you. First seen in an article in Farm Show magazine.

They got you good. On the other hand, be thankful the part is still available.

Tell you one thing there is a need for. Plans for a big bale unroller. That unrolls a big bale into the pick up of a square baler. Running of the tractors hydralics. Using off the self parts.

Kelly, I have a neighbor doing that right now. He bought an unroller($8000.00) and found it was making clumps to big for the sq. baler to handle. Last I heard, he was putting his tedder behind the unroller, and flinging the hay onto an old self-unloading wagon floor, and feeding this into his baler. He was making squares for the horse folks.
