I am considering converting 706 gas engine to a 3.9 cummins diesel. Looking for information on a conversion flywheel, clutch, and bellhousing. Anyone who knows of a available parts please share any information. Thank You.

I think that 239 c.i.(2/3 of the 5.9l 359ci) cummins would make a good motor for a half ton pickup. It needs good rubber mounts though the one in our td8g had to have newer series mounts put in it and the idle set high to keep it from breaking its (3rd) cam.

3.9 would be okay but I'd probably go with a 5.9 set to about 90 hp. Call 507-356-4520 ask for Dale, he puts Cummins engines in Olivers and has done a few IH's.

Nothing wrong with a 3.9..... .....I know it would certainly blow the IH 263 away in the power department.

I'd like to put a 6AT3.4 Cummins in one, I put one in my pickup and it really runs good. 150 hp out of 210 cubes no sweat. Would work great in a tractor.

Do you have any more photos of your 3.4 setup? What kind of pickup did you put it in? I was thinking of swapping in a 4BT cummins into my 1/2 ton truck.

Thanks for the info. on link implement. The 3.9 engine we have is in a 84 F150 Ford. It's been in the truck for 10 years / 80,000 miles. Now the truck is junk and we would like to put it in the 706 tractor. We will have a good C263 for sale.
