Looking for an early F-20 narrow tread. Is it true the F-20 used the duckbill front end 1932, 1933 and 1934? What would an early F-20 cost, needing rebuilt (stuck engine but complete). Would an electric start add much to the value and what would it add to the price? I see lots of F-20's from 1935 and up but haven't seen much for the early ones. Thanks.

One reason you don"t see many early ones is they didn"t make as many. I don"t have all the figures in front of me, but I know none were made in "33.
The depression was at its peak and nobody was selling many tractors. The parts book shows when the duckbill was replaced but I don"t have the book where I"m at. I"ll post again later with some production figures for you.

The duckbill steering was used on FA-501 To FA-4338 and TA-135000 to TA-135661. All these tractors were built before May 1, 1934. It isn't accurate to say this year had this, that year had that because most changes were made randomly not at the beginning of a year. Only about 9800 tractors were made before Jan 1, 1935 and then they made almost 30,000 in 1935. They made around 30,000 each year after that so that explains why you don't see many '32-'34 tractors. They made about 2500 tractors by April 1932, then no more were built till Jan 1, 1934.
