Just finished cleaning snow as it became dark and realized the my fan belt is shot. It has stretched to the point that the fan bearly turns. How do you change the belt? There is no tensioner so I am assuming you somehow split the fan pulley? Does the fan and/or rad have to be removed first?

I'm hoping for hints as it is too cold and dark to start on it tonight.

Thanks in advance from the Frozen North

The flange of the pulley closest to the rad is threaded. It will screw off after you loosen a set screw on the flange. When you put the new belt back on be sure that the set screw is tightened down in one of the notches on the fixed pulley.

Thanks. I was sitting here think that one of the pulleys must come apart. Is it the top one (with the fan) or the bottom one?

It is the one with the fan it will loosen and will screw ahead until it will slide right up to the fan.

There is no need to remove the rad. You may have to turn the fan around a bit to spot the set screw and loosen it before you try to turn the pulley flange.
