C263 tube seals are killing me.

Ok Talk me through this. I have ruined 4 of these so far. I oil them up and oil the hole. Stick a old drill bit( flat side into the seal) then push.
I can not get it in there far enough. Just rips the tube apart.
This little rubber doo hicky jobber is really getting me mad.

Kelly You don't have the holes lined up good enough. You need to have two guide pins the exact size to line up the bearing cap before you torgue it. Then a tool like a screw driver with the end ground flat to put in the tube, push with the tool has you pull on the rubber to stretch it thinner, a little oil should do. If that shoulder at the tip is rough, smooth it a little.

I got the new sleeves in and torqued the main bearings down to 80 pounds.
Going to put the pistons in next.

Stupid rubber noodle thingies!!!! Grrrrr !!!

You talken about then PITA's that are on the rear mains cap , aren't they funI have a Tee handel tool that i made up that is rounded on the end and is a littel smaller in Dia. then the hole in the seal , now the main cap has to be set perfect with the holes and i use the white grease and they just slide wright in now maybe it is just me but i have scraped out my share of them till i made up the tool now they just slide in .
