Stolen 560 pump...

Thieves stole the hydraulic pump out of my Dad's IH 1964 560. He sealed the hole up with a steel plate to keep the fluid in the transmission. Now it's mine and I need to get the hydraulics working. A 17 gallon pump appears to be available, and I have seen a "main" pump and a "power steering" pump for sale. The missing pump is housed in the middle left of the tractor in a square hole in the transmission case. Can somebody help me sort this out?

You could probably get a new pump if your tractor
is covered under your home owner's insurance. Hal

Tree Lady,

If your dad just put a plate over the hole, you are going to need the mounting boss, all the bolts, possibly the pickup tube and the driven gear, etc.

Maybe it would be an idea to just go to a salvage yard and buy the whole assembly as a starting point?

Hope ya get 'er,

Allan

Thanks to Allan for a great picture and informative reply. The pump was stolen over 10 years ago so insurance is not an option. With so many missing parts the salvage idea seems the best. Now to find one...

If you want to find a salvage yard easily. Set up a new thread asking for nearest salvage yard and give a location near you so that some of us can try to help.

They are piggy backed on each other so you probably need both.
