Hello,

How do you tighten the throttle lever to keep it from slipping on a 560? Is there supposed to be friction material between the lever and the plate on the steering column?

Thanks in advance,

Mark

there is a friction disk under the throttle leaver. to put a new one in use a harmonic ballencer to pull the sterring wheel then take off the handle and the disk is right there. my spring was weak also so i put a split repair warsher above the roll pin and under the spring that helped keep the throdle tight

Yes there is a friction disk. It has a spring that tensions it and there is a roll pin and no way to increase the tension, unless you add some washers or a heavier spring. Jake

Sooooo...there is supposed to be a friction disk directly below the throttle lever itself? Can you still get one from IH?

I'm not real sure but I believe the friction plate is under the dash cover or by the fuel tank somewhere. Just follow the shaft down and I believe you will see it. I hope I'm thinking of the right tractor.
