A friend of mine stopped by the house today and asked if I could help him find a head gasket for his tractor.
It is an International, about a 1965. Diesel.
Not sure what year or model it is.
He said he was told the engine was a D195.

I can get any numbers you need off the tractor.
Just tell me what to get and where to find it.
I can probably get a picture of the tractor.

He just wants to know where he can get a head gasket for it.
I told him I knew the people to ask.

Thanks for any help you give me.

I think IH used a Continental diesel in one of their tractors with 193cid. Hal

Just take the tractor model number and serial number to a Case-IH dealer and they will either have the head gasket or can get it for you in a couple of days.

How can we find the serial number. Where is it located.
How can we figure out what model it is.

I think we have a Case dealer here in town.

Thanks.

The model number or letter is likely shown on a decal on the side of the tractor's sheet metal on the front half of the tractor. The serial number plate's location varies depending upon model. Look for an aluminum colored plate about 1 1/2" high and 3" long, held on with two or four rivets. It may nave been painted over. Copy down everything that's on this little plate and take that information to the Case-IH dealer. If you'd post a picture of the tractor, somebody can likely tell you exactly where to look for the serial number plate. You could also take the old head gasket with you to the dealership and they could most likely get the right replacement for you.
