On the left hand side of the water pump(opposite the injector side) someone has used galvinzed pipe and rubber line, to run a line from the water pump to the cast block that connects the two lower radiator hoses. When they did this they had to extend the top generator bracket to make room. I can't find in the parts book where anything is supposed to be there. There is already a bypass hose on the other side. Was there something there orginally?

I think I found where it goes. There is an oil cooler mounted behind the frame rail with two outlets plugged off. Do these oil coolers have a habbit of leaking? On the opposite side they'd t'd into the short bypass hose and ran a hose from where the drain cock in the block is supposed to be, I assume they probable had a block heater there, but who knows what has happened to it over the years.

Did they bypass the engine oil cooler on the left side of the engine by the frame?I know theirs two lines or hoses that go to the cooler out of those outlets.

It is a good bet that someone at one time had something mounted there or did a quick field repair that ended up lasting a long time. On our tractors, I have found several things that don't belong because they were altered over the years. If originality is an issue, change it back to original. Otherwise, some of those fixes can last a long time and could be in relation to some problem the previous owner had with the stock routing.

Hi Ron,

'Spose someone had a tank heater kinda plumbed in there at one time and just replaced it with a length of hose?

Dunno,

Allan
