The clutch felt good and right brake grabbed good. Left brake took a little more foot pressure and didn't seem to grab as hard but did work. I did pull dipstick on engine and oil was not fresh. it was black but not tar like and that is typical. Did not notice any discoloration on the dipstick to indicate water, etc. Filters were not changed either. I agree the price is high and will try to work on him but tried yesterday without much luck. Honestly, this thing is better @ 8000.00 than the 1466 I was looking @ before Xmas @ 6500.00 with water getting in oil.

If'in you do wind up buying it, get the dealer to throw in a tach repair for the deal.

well the fact that the left brake take more to make it work tells me that that is the brake that was use most and it is in need of work . ANd it is still a Buyers market and that 1466 with water in the oil was 2500 over priced and the 1066 should be in the 6500-7000 range since you do not know the true hours , Now if they are going to fix the brakes and make sure that the Hdy. system is up to snuff and fix anything there including the draft control and the PTO leak and fix the tach and give you a 100 hr warranty and cover any and all repairs in that time frame change all filters and fluids then OK it is worthe it . THat should make up the differance .

Where on earth do you find tractor dealers that actually work with the customer?

'Round these parts, you pay asking price for the tractor, AS-IS, or it just sits on the lot. Period. End of discussion. No dickering. No if-you-fix-this-then-I-will-buy-at-your-price.

There's a dealer around here that has nearly every piece of used equipment he has ever taken in in trade. It's all made of gold, don't ya know, and if you don't like his price, he'll just keep it! Millions in equipment covering acres and acres, rotting into the ground.

Another dealer would rather take half what they were asking at their annual auction than 75% of asking price in the store.
