You must be very proud of yourself. There wouldn't be one man in ten thousand who could fix such a complex problem. Congratulations!

I agree...it took a real stick-to-it attitude to solve this one. One thing I've learned over the years is that: Everything that was designed and built by homo sapiens can be fixed eventually by the same group. Just takes patience, and at times a little cash.
You have to wonder how many $5000 repair jobs were fixed with a .75 O ring in the shop?

Hey Ol' Bud!

I don't like to think negative, but sort of have to wonder 'bout this too.

The pistons are the most expensive part to repair at a list price of $90 a pop and there are 18 of 'em in there between the pump and the motor. So, that leaves a heck of a lot of room for "labor charges". :>(

I've talked to some pretty darned sharp ol' boys over the past few days who tell me that the only enemies these things have is someone trying to tow 'em to start and a lack of service. Otherwise, they just keep goin' and goin'.

After being inside one, I can tell you that I would not flinch one little bit at hooking onto a tillage implement with 'em. They look pretty darned strong to me.

I underestimated your fortitude: That strength or firmness of mind which enables a person to encounter danger with coolness and courage, or to bear pain or adversity without murmuring.

I told you to go have it tested. I'm glad I did.
I think it may have helped you buckle down and dig in. I'm really glad to hear you got it resolved. There's a lot of close tolerances in there. A little wear in the right places, often indiscernable without close inspection can often cause problems and be difficult to root out. But that did not happen in this case. So that's great.

Mornin' Thomas,

Are you referring to me and the hydro home-school learning adventure? :>)

If so, I gotta tell you that it is you guys who get the credit on this one, because you collectively walked me thru it; each adding a little bit of knowledge on top of the last.

I’m just happy that the old red mama is back ready to work again. :>)

This is one he!! of a site, the way it pulls all the neighbors together, the way it does. Maybe Keith is right. I should probably have that Bar-B-Que to try and pay all you fellows back. :>)

What was the actual problem with the Hydro? What did you do to fix it?
