Found an old diesel head that had been laying around and I'm stripping to see if it is good. I only paid 20 bucks for it, but hope it is good. Is there a special tool or any certain way to remove these injectors? The fuel delivery part came out okay, but the actual injectors are stuck tight. Should I just heat them or what? Thanks

I have tried 2 ways.
On 1 cracked head we cut the injector studs off so we could turn the injectors with a pipe wrench. Once we got them to spin they cane out pretty easily.

On the other head we tool the top half of the injector out and used the screws thru the threaded ears like jackscrews. This worked OK also.

If you get them out remember to also get the pre-combustion chambers out too. You cant buy them any more.

I made a slide hammer to remove them. Used 3/4 inch thick steel drilled 2 holes to match the holes in injector after fitting is removed, welded
3/4 inch rod to plate and made slide part out of
2 peices of heavy wall pipe one inside other welded togeather and cap on end of rod.

Be careful when prying on those bodies you might pop something off that you didn't want to. squirt some penetrating oil around each one and tap on the bodies. Give the oil time to work. A week or so. Tap on each one everyday if possible, and add more oil. I did this on a big block Chevy with stuck lifters used WD-40 and it worked!

Haven't seen a knowledgeable answer yet, so here goes with one that isn't.

I just pounded mine out with wedged steel bars on either side of the injector. Not a good idea I am sure, but wasn't real smart back then. Took me most of the day, and nothing broke. (Except a crowbar, if you can believe that!! Busted one of the claws off.)

Now, I would just make up some homemade pullers that would use the existing holes and force them off using the head as a base.
