Hi, my husband is driving me crazy! If nothing else, this will add some entertanment to your site. OK..... Here goes...
We have a small hobby farm, He had a 560, which i thought worked fine for moving round bales, well, he sold that, and is off to buy an H with a wide front that came factory, and is supposed to be sooo rare. I guess it is mint, and has chains, and some kind of a loader. You can tell I don"t know my tractors. He has just left driving hours to pick this thing up. Do you think this is such a great find? I think he is nuts. Mind you, I was raised with the green Deere tractors. If anyone has any comments, please respond. Have a great day, and thanks for reading!!

He sold the 560 and has bought an H to replace it for moving big round bales? In 4 months you will find he is looking to buy another tractor that is "big enough" to move the bales.

I think you will love your H. Rare, I'm not sure I would call any H or M rare unless it has a high or low serial #. They are great tractors but a little on the light side for round bales. Please be careful. It would have made a good companion to your 560. I wouldn't trade my H but not because it's rare, I've just grown very attatched to it. It's old and rough looking just like me. Have a nice day and enjoy your new H

WFEs are more rare than narrow front ends. Factory WFEs are more rare than aftermarket WFEs (at least from what I've seen) but I don't know about 'sooo rare'. If one wanted to find one, it wouldn't be that hard to do. One thing you can take heart in, the H, as a model, had one of the largest production runs of _any_ tractor. Finding parts for it shouldn't be a problem for a good long while.

He could be spending money on a lot worse things. My wife doesn't mind me buying tractors too much as they keep me around home and I would have something of value to sell if we needed money someday. I agree though that he should have kept the 560 if at all possible as a guy can't have too many tractors. Dave...

Not really rare, but probably a nice find anyway. I would have kept the 560 and bought the H to keep it company.

He's cool. Either tractor will do, but (in my opinion) WF equipped H Farmalls with a loader are more classic, and also a better fit with a hobby farm. You will like it better as an operator (again in my opinion) beacuse its driver layout is more intuitive. The first tractor my wife ever drove was an H with two row cultivators mounted. She laughed so hard (for a variety of internal reasons) that we had to pull over to calm down). I hope you enjoy it as much.

But, it is NOT rare. 560 is better with a loader simply because it is stronger. An H is pretty light and requires extreme caution. But, any loader tractor is dangerous if not handled properly.
