Can someone tell me how much I have spent. Oh the agony!!!! Working on a SMD-TA. New sleeves ,pistons, bearings, clutch, pressure plate, injectors, regulator, battery, tires, fluids, paint, installed power steering, fenders, seat, rebuilt wide front, rebuilt radiator, rebuilt throttle linkage, welded fast hitch, welded fuel tank. Oh the pain!!Excessive misery on the checkbook. OOOOH

When I finish one I start another. Costs me 3 figures/month, every month, AFTER the purchase price. I don't want to know what the first figure is (although I have a pretty good idea), let's just say it's more than 3.

John: I'll be on the high side as I tend to think in CAD. Assuming you paid $2,000. plus for it, $7,000. would be my guess. I have an acquaintence, has 80 plus restored Farmalls. He also pays for a lot of the labour. He told me about 5 years ago when he started 25 years ago a restored Farmall on average cost him $4,000. and today that figure has doubled. I guess if you look at average a Super MDTA will be above average.

Don't look ! A little sweat and a little blood and it's still priceless because it's not being made anymore ! I totally agree with Rustyfarmall , you could go out and buy a 1800lb tractor with 20 hp for a lot more money than you've got in this one . I don't understand why everyone looks at the bottom line when it comes to these old tractors , what will your grandkids have when they are 60 ? Electronic headaches ! There won't be any old tractors , trucks or motorcycles in 100 years . Can't fix them without a PHD . Use em for 10 and throw them away . Oh well...Take care ...Randy

Really don't know how much you have spent, but guaranteed it is a drop in the bucket compared to a brand new rig of comparable horse power, and the horse power is the only thing that would be comparable. That 'ol M will work the socks off of a new rig.
