At the end of letting out the clutch on my super C I get a loud vibration that goes away once the clutch is let out all the way. I thought maybe throwout bearing but it doesn't seem to chatter or grind. I made sure the bearing grease fitting is full of grease. Any ideas?

Also, the tractor came with what I think is a Wagner loader with no cylinders or hookups. Anybody know what size hydraulic cylinders I need or how to hook up the hoses?

Yoy can see the bolts in the clutch shaft through the hole in the bottom of the back end of the clutch houseing. The most common cause of the problem you describe is a badly worn clutch shaft pilot bushing

Check the pilot bushing in the end of the crankshaft. When they get loose the clutch disc drags on the inside fo the flywheel & causes a vibration. Also check the bolts in the U joint on the back end of the clutch shaft

Is your Super C an early one with the graphite bearing? If so, it may have seized. Or any kind of problem you have with the graphite will wallow out the pilot bushing. Either one will call for a split to repair

Thanks for your response. I don"t know if it is a graphite bearing. It is a 54 so maybe not right?

The release rearing should be a ball bearing. The Steel backed brass pilot bushing in the end of the crankshaft is most likely the cause of your problem. Will require a split to repair

Thanks for your response. If that is indeed it and I look through the inspection plate underneath with a flashlight while somebody else slowly lets out the clutch, what should I see happen, the whole shaft shake?
