As you work on this, keep in mind that if the pulley on the tractor and the sheller are not exactly the same size, the RPM of the tractor pulley won’t tell you what you need to know, the RPM of the sheller.

I had a Minneapolis Moline 1210 sheller that was PTO drive. It seems to me like the driven sprocket was smaller than the driving sprocket, meaning that the main shaft of the sheller ran faster than the 540 PTO speed of the tractor.

You can find out the speed of a spinning shaft with a tachometer or you can measure the circumference of the pulleys and do a percentage and calculate it.

Wouldn't it be easier to get the belt pulley running on your tractor, that is, if it's equipped for it. I have an adapter that will adapt Ferguson and Ford pto shafts to belt pulley. I'll sell it for $100. That would be cheaper than switching your corn sheller over to pto shaft.
