I'm still reincarnating an H and have two front wheel setups for it, have to get tires for either one, and don't know which would be best. Is there a difference in steering or mud clogging between the single or narrow double front tires??? Lots of mud and some black gumbo down here. Matt

We have a H that we have both types for it .The single is the best in the mud.The doubles would ball up and slide and if it was cold theyed freeze up with mud.We changed it back in forth depending on what we were doing, field work or hauling manure .

Go with the double front, depending on how you mount the rims to the hubs, you can have four different width spacings between the tires, the closest spacing will result in the easiest steering, and the widest spacing will allow you to slog through a lot of gummy mud without clogging. We used to use an H for choring year round, plowed through belly deep mud more often than not, and never had one of those mud scrapers installed. Didn't need it.

Not all front wheels setups are like that.

Either set up clog with mud, the double front tires if you have the wiper bars on them do better in the mud then a single ever will. They made bars that sort of set right next to the tires on the double fronts that would help keep the tires clean, also the double front speads the weight of the tractor over more space so it doesn't sink as easy
